Carbonaceous Chondrite:
-
A meteorite with entrenched pebble-sized
granules that hold significant quantities
of organic (complex carbon-rich) matter.

Celestial Sphere:
-
An imaginary sphere adjacent the Earth, which
represents the sky. Astronomers diagram the
sky by the celestial coordinates of the sphere
to place objects in the cosmos.

Chemical Evolution:
-
The chemical (i.e., pre-biological) changes
that distorted simple atoms and molecules
into the additional multifaceted chemicals
wanted for the origin of life.

Chromospheres:
-
The center layer of the solar atmosphere
between the photosphere and the corona. The
chromospheres are approximately 10,000 kilometers
(6,200 miles) thick and are calm primarily
of hydrogen. It varies in hotness from below
10,000 Kelvin (18,000° F) to over 100,000
Kelvin (180,000° F).
