Discovery team prepares for fourth space walk

Indian-American astronaut Sunita Williams and her nine friends spent a quiet Sunday at her new home in space preparing for a fourth space-walk to try once more to withdraw a humid solar array.

The fourth space-walk is planned to begin at 12:17 am IST on Tuesday (6:47 pm GMT on Monday) and might last as long as six and a half hours depending on how much time it takes to retract the array.

New Delhi: The first woman of Indian origin to fly into space, Kalpana Chawla, tiled the way. Now another woman Sunita Williams is following her trail becoming the second.

Williams’s would leave for a six-month long Expedition 14, a NASA mission to the International Space Station where she would serve as a flight engineer.

Williams said that she will carry samosas with her in a extraordinary container when she launches in an interview to Asian week.

Indian origin American woman Sunita Williams’ flight up to space on board Discovery this Friday has flickers interest in India.

A flight engineer by guidance, her main task would be to re-wire the International Space Station and run its automatic arm during coming six-month stay onboard.

She was born in Massachusetts and her father is from Gujarati descent. Some of her distant family lives in India.
