Media's are invited to an Exploration Media Day at NASA's Glenn Research Center, Cleveland, coming Wednesday, Oct. 18. Reporters would have the opportunity to tour facilities, see hardware being built, view test demonstrations and also pose questions to NASA exploration managers.
Highlights of the day would contain looks at fabrication work on the Ares I-1 Flight Test Article Pathfinder and also design work on the Orion crew exploration vehicle's check module. Both are being developed at Glenn. Reporters also would see a copy of this check module that will provide power, propulsion and life support for Orion. Additional presentations would carry overviews of the roles of Glenn and the Plum Brook Facility in the NASA's exploration mission.

WASHINGTON, DC, United States (UPI) -- NASA has awarded a space program operations contract valued at the rate of $1.1 billion for the first six months of its term to United Space Alliance LLC, of Houston.
When formalized, the agreement would result in the contract running through Sept. 30, 2010.

MOSCOW -- An American female of space tourist received roses and kisses from her husband yesterday after she was back to Earth in a cramped capsule with a two-man crew from the International Space Station.
Alerts Anousheh Ansari, Russian cosmonaut Pavel Vinogradov, and the US astronaut Jeffrey Williams were flown to Moscow for medical tests and debriefing hours after touching down on the steppes of state Kazakhstan.
